Oral lesions may have various origins

Minor oral lesions may result from surgical procedures on gums or other parts of the mouth, abrasions from orthodontics braces or dental prosthetics, small wounds from eating sharp food, self-biting, aphtae (canker sores), etc. Even when benign, these lesions may trigger pain especially when chewing or swallowing food.

To provide pain relief and promote faster healing, Pierre Fabre Laboratories launched a protective product available either as a gel or a spray, depending on oral lesions nature and localisation.

ELGYDIUM CLINIC CICALIUM Gel & Spray, a protective film over oral lesions

Because they contain polyvinylpyrolidone (PVP), taurine (an amino acid) and zinc gluconate, ELGYDIUM CLINIC CICALIUM Gel & Spray create a protective film which isolates lesions from potential irritating factors and keep a favourable local environment, thus promoting healing and reducing pain.

ELGYDIUM CLINIC CICALIUM, a gel and a spray to better adapt treatment to lesions

The 8 ml ELGYDIUM CLINIC CICALIUM Gel is specifically designed to treat small and easy-to-reach lesions. Its nozzle tip allows for direct gel application over lesions.

ELGYDIUM CLINIC CICALIUM Spray is a 15ml bottle equipped with a multidirectional spray which delivers on a wider surface. It was designed to treat extended and hard-to-reach lesions, for example at the back of the mouth.

A clinical trial shows ELGYDIUM CLINIC CICALIUM Gel & Spray effectiveness

A randomized, blind study was conducted with 3 groups of 20 patients suffering from minor recurrent oral ulcers. The first group was treated with ELGYDIUM CLINIC CICALIUM Gel, the second with ELGYDIUM CLINIC CICALIUM Spray, and the third one left with no specific treatment (control group). If appropriate, the cause of lesions was removed prior to treatment.

On average, lesions treated with ELGYDIUM CLINIC CICALIUM Gel healed 2.04 days earlier than those in control patients, and those treated with ELGYDIUM CLINIC CICALIUM Spray 1.70 days earlier.

An easy-to-use product, even in children over 4 years old

ELGYDIUM CLINIC CICALIUM Gel & Spray is to be applied on lesions, 3 to 4 times a day, until complete healing. Drinking and eating is to be avoided for at least 1 hour after application.

Alcohol- and sugar-free, ELGYDIUM CLINIC CICALIUM Gel & Spray may be used by children over 4 years old, pregnant and lactating women and those suffering from diabetes.
